I haven’t been able to run for a little while now. I have right heel pain so bad that it’s hard to walk. Plantar fasciitis suuuuuucks. I haven’t really been able to swim much, either. Every time I go, my arch starts cramping after 100m or so.
So, I went to the podiatrist this morning. He injected my heel with a pain/inflammation relieving cocktail that hurt slightly less than getting kicked in the balls. They took X-rays, scanned my feet for orthotics (so fancy), did the injection, and taped my foot/ankle up. He also wants me to wear a night time brace on my foot to keep my foot from dropping. It’s supposed to stretch the fascia. I asked him if it would make me look dorky. “I’m not wearing it if it decreases the likelihood of my wife wanting to sleep with me. I’m hanging by a thread as it is”
He actually wrote an order for my wife to sleep with me “as needed.” (Did I mention he’s a work friend of mine?)
I’m tempted to frame it and hang it over the bed. A doctor’s order for my wife to have sex with me whenever I want. Well, a podiatrist’s order. Which is about as useful as a chiropractor’s order (tell me again how you want to “adjust” me to help with my sinus drainage)
Unless, maybe, I was into foot sex or was yearning for a “foot job” or something. Which, I most definitely am not.
Interesting fact: I just googled “foot job”. Apparently, it’s a real thing after all. Man, people are weird….
Anyway, I have done what I can to take care of my foot problem. It should be feeling really good again in a couple of weeks. So - yay for me
